Where Poetry Meets Mental Health

I Think I Might Need Therapy

I Think I Might Need Therapy is a poetry collection for people carrying quiet battles. It’s raw, honest, and written for anyone who’s ever felt too much and said too little.

“I write for the ones who feel deeply and speak quietly. You’re not alone.”

What People Are Saying!

"A very emotionally grounding book that touches on so many relatable emotions and reminds one that we are all human with similar experiences and trials/tribulations. Whatever you are going through, someone on this vast earth is going through as well, so find comfort in the fact that you are not alone.

Aside from that, love that this book of poems is short and sweet. It is an easy read for even those with busy schedules! Within the book, there is space to reflect on one’s own experiences, which makes for a great book club reading! And best of all, it has resources for mental health at the end which is wonderful!

Alana Benjamin Taveesha really put so much thought into this book. Each chapter has a lesson that we all can take from. As a person who suffers with many different forms of mental illness this book was refreshing and an amazing read.

This book hit home in many ways with the experiences that were shared. It helped with understanding that we are not alone and that someone else shares similar experiences and overcame. It gives hope and confidence encourages us to seek therapy because we all need help. I appreciate how the author was extremely descriptive but not too overbearing yet it still hits home just enough for you to think about your situation.

This book is a reminder to us all that we are not alone in our experiences and that we have support. Taveesha's storytelling makes it easy to relate to all of the poems, while also creating a safe space to explore the emotions that may come up.
